  • 3-4 cloves Garlic Fresh minced garlic is crucial.
  • 1/4 cup Honey Can substitute with maple syrup.
  • 1/4 cup Low-Sodium Soy Sauce Use tamari for gluten-free.
  • 1 tbsp Rice Vinegar Apple cider vinegar works as an alternative.
  • 1 tsp Sesame Oil Optional, skip for a lighter dish.
  • 1 tbsp Neutral Oil (Canola or Avocado) For sautéing.
  • 2 stalks Green Onions Chives can be substituted.
  • to taste optional Red Pepper Flakes For added heat.

Preparation

  • In a large skillet, heat the neutral oil over medium-high heat.
  • Add the ground turkey and break it up with a spatula. Cook until browned, about 5-7 minutes.
  • Stir in the minced garlic and cook for 1 minute.
  • Add honey, soy sauce, rice vinegar, and sesame oil, then stir to combine.
  • If using, sprinkle in the red pepper flakes and cook for another 2-3 minutes.
  • Remove from heat and fold in chopped green onions.

Serving

  • Serve over rice or in lettuce leaves.

Notes

For storage, let cool, then keep in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 3 days. Can be frozen for longer storage.
