  • Cucumber Crunchy and refreshing for added texture.
  • Avocado Perfectly ripe for a creamy balance.
  • Carrots Shredded or cut into strips for sweetness and color.
  • Soy Sauce Dipping sauce; use low-sodium if preferred.
  • Wasabi Just a dab adds a zing.
  • Pickled Ginger Serves as a palate cleanser.
  • Optional Toppings: Sesame seeds, Spicy mayo, Tempura flakes Get creative with flavors!

Instructions
 

Preparing the Rice

  • Rinse the Sushi Rice under cold water until the water runs clear.
  • Cook according to the rice cooker instructions (about 20 minutes).
  • Mix in rice vinegar, sugar, and salt while warm, then let cool slightly.

Assembling Sushi Rolls

  • Slice sashimi-grade fish and veggies into thin strips.
  • Lay a nori sheet on the bamboo mat, shiny side down.
  • Wet your hands and spread a thin layer of sushi rice, leaving a small edge at the top.
  • Add fish and veggie strips about an inch from the bottom.
  • Roll tightly from the bottom, using the bamboo mat. Seal the edge with water.
  • Slice the roll into bite-sized pieces, wiping the knife after each cut.
  • Arrange on a platter and serve with wasabi and pickled ginger.

Notes

Sushi is best enjoyed fresh, but leftovers can be stored in the fridge for up to a day. If freezing, only use rolls with cooked ingredients or veggies and consume within a month.
