  • 1 teaspoon ginger, minced Fresh ginger adds brightness; ground ginger can be used as a substitute.
  • 1/2 cup green onions, sliced Adds freshness and crunch.

Cooking

  • Heat a skillet over medium heat.
  • Add the ground beef, breaking it apart as it cooks until there’s no pink left.
  • Drain excess fat from the skillet if necessary.
  • Stir in soy sauce, brown sugar, sesame oil, minced garlic, and minced ginger. Cook for about 2-3 minutes.
  • Let the mixture cook for another 3-5 minutes, allowing it to thicken and deepen in flavor.
  • Serve over warm rice and garnish with sliced green onions and sesame seeds.

Notes

Pair with quick-pickled vegetables for added crunch. For more flavor, drizzle with sriracha and serve with steamed vegetables.
