Preparation

  • In a mixing bowl, combine warm water, sugar, and yeast. Let it froth for about 5 minutes.
  • Stir in the flour and salt until a dough starts to form. Knead for 1 minute.
  • Divide the dough into 12 pieces and shape them into pretzels or knots.

Cooking

  • Preheat your air fryer to 375°F (190°C). Boil a pot of water and stir in the baking soda.
  • Dip each pretzel in the boiling water for 30 seconds.
  • Place the pretzels in the air fryer, brush them with the egg wash, and sprinkle with coarse salt.
  • Air fry for 5-6 minutes until golden brown. Serve warm.

Notes

These pretzel bites are best enjoyed fresh, but can be stored in an airtight container for up to two days. Reheat in the air fryer for a few minutes to regain crispness.
