  • 8 ounces pasta Fettuccine or penne recommended.
  • 4 strips bacon Turkey bacon can be used for a leaner option.
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced Fresh is best, but powdered can work in a pinch.

Creamy Sauce Ingredients

  • 1 cup heavy cream Can substitute half-and-half or cashew cream.
  • 1 cup diced tomatoes Use fresh tomatoes when in season.
  • ½ cup grated Parmesan cheese Pecorino Romano can be used as an alternative.
  • to taste salt and pepper Essential for flavor.

Garnish

  • fresh basil For garnish, optional.

Instructions
 

Cooking the Pasta

  • Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil, add pasta, and cook until al dente. Drain and set aside.

Preparing the Bacon

  • In a large skillet over medium heat, cook bacon until crispy and golden brown. Remove it onto a paper towel-lined plate to drain and crumble.

Making the Sauce

  • Use the bacon grease left in the skillet to sauté the minced garlic for about a minute until fragrant.
  • Add diced tomatoes and cook for 2-3 minutes.
  • Pour in the heavy cream and keep simmering while stirring.
  • Stir in the grated Parmesan cheese until melted.

Combining the Dish

  • Add cooked pasta to the creamy sauce and mix until well coated.
  • Taste and season with salt and pepper as desired.

Serving

  • Serve topped with crumbled bacon and fresh basil, if desired.

Notes

Serve with crusty artisan bread on the side for a comforting experience. A light salad pairs well to cut the richness.
