  • 1 can crescent roll dough Flaky base, store-bought or homemade.
  • 8 oz cream cheese, softened Main cheesecake filling.
  • 1/2 cup sugar Sweetens the filling.
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract Pure extract recommended for best flavor.
  • 1/4 cup powdered sugar Adds sweetness and smooth texture.
  • 1 large egg Binding agent in the filling.
  • 1 tsp lemon juice Adds a refreshing zesty flavor.
  • 1/2 cup fruit topping (optional) Cherries, blueberries, or other fruits.

Preparation

  • Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  • In a bowl, combine cream cheese, sugar, vanilla extract, powdered sugar, egg, and lemon juice. Mix until smooth.
  • Roll out the crescent dough and place it in a greased casserole dish, pressing it to cover the base.
  • Spread the cream cheese mixture evenly over the crescent dough.
  • Roll up the dough tightly and slice it into pinwheels, placing them snugly in the dish.
  • Bake for 20-25 minutes until golden brown.
  • Top with fruit if desired and serve warm.

Notes

Serve warm with a dusting of powdered sugar or a drizzle of whipped cream. For a twist, add a scoop of vanilla ice cream or Greek yogurt.
